Casinos.

Faites vos jeaux!

Mention Casinos and most people will think of Las Vegas.  We have not yet visited Las Vegas (I am sure it is just a question of time) … however … that does not mean we have not visited Nevada.  Now casinos are not to everyone’s taste … but they can fit the CTBM lifestyle. Casinos naturally make a good profit from their visitors, which means they will take a hit on their accommodation rates if it lures guests in during what would otherwise be a quiet time for them … typically mid-week.  I was initially keen to try for a stay in the South Lake Tahoe area on the California/Nevada Stateline.

However some online investigation showed South Lake Tahoe was likely to be too brash for us … but the Hyatt Regency at Incline Village (laketahoe.hyatt.com) on the north Lake Tahoe shore sounded ideal … within the casino-friendly state of Nevada and with good skiing on the doorstep.  Sure enough there was a very pleasant, comparatively discrete in-house casino … but the main draw for as was the mid-week £95 per night room rate including a very generous breakfast for the two of us.  And this was a ritzy resort with outside hot-tubs, heated swimming pools, views of the lake etc.
